LAKE ST CLAIR 9TH ANNUAL MUSKY BRAWL

MIKE SUTTON
Our first GOF donation recipient was Mike Sutton with Orillia Fire Services. GOF paid for Mike's entry fee into the 9th Annual Musky Brawl held on Lake St Clair, ON, and a Kris Gagnier donated a musky lure.
This can be a grueling tournament and 2023 was no exception. The weather was cold, wet, and windy and 144 competitors from Canada and the United States battled out the weather and tough fishing conditions over multiple days. Competitors must cast or jig massive baits for huge Lake St Clair muskies, with the goal of wrestling multiple 50"+ fish to take the win.

It is worth noting that Mike originally contested our offer to pay for his entry fee in favour of seeing it go to another soldier or first responder. This demonstrates his selfless and stoic personality, and we could not have been more pleased to support him.

We truly appreciate your dedication and loyalty towards supporting others before yourself Mike, and you are a great example of who we should all aim to be.
