ERIC & OKSANA

Trip #5 took place in Comox, British Columbia.

Dan LeGrandeur (Bear Scare Ltd.) hosted Eric and his wife Oksana for two outstanding fishing days in beautiful British Columbia.

Spouses and children are often overlooked for the sacrifices they make and the scars they carry from these professions, so it is amazing that these two could share in this experience together.

Eric grew up in Manitoba and joined the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in 2011 as a Combat Engineer, and was later posted to 1 Combat Engineer Regiment. He has deployed on numerous domestic operations as well as internationally to Ukraine, Kuwait, and Iraq. After suffering an injury in Iraq, he subsequently transitioned from the military. His wife Oksana supported CAF operations in Ukraine as a linguist and is a budding new angler.

I’ve been fishing since I was old enough to use a rod. It has always been my chance to get out and truly enjoy something I love. From the lows of snapping rods to the highs of landing a master angler, fishing will always be my passion. We want to take this opportunity to thank the Green Ops Fishing team and Dan from Bear Scare for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. As someone who struggles with mental health issues, I have always found fishing to be my one true grounding activity. This experience will live with me forever and remind me of the true joys in life, especially in those dark times.” - ERIC

Thank you Dan for providing another amazing trip, and thank you Eric and Oksana for your service and sacrifice.
